Abstract:
From 2015–2019 the BSP put on a series of annual Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI)-funded conferences. Called Expanding Undergraduate Success in STEM (EUSS), they brought together members of the STEM community to explore the challenges and opportunities of advancing toward greater equity, inclusion, and institutional change in STEM education and fields.
The 1st annual EUSS Conference convened on October 9, 2015. The main goals were to share and discuss BSP's existing efforts and strategies to increase persistence in STEM for undergraduate students from all backgrounds, develop research on the why and how BSP works, and disseminate the BSP's 'best practices' at UC Berkeley.
