Why do you tutor for BSP?
BIO1B was the first STEM class I took to try out the pre-health pathway! I told myself that depending on my experience, I would decide if I wanted to continue. Because it was my first weeder science course as a freshman, I initially struggled with the volume of content. I needed help, so I attended BSP study groups and found a community and a place to ask all my questions. I know I would not have gotten through my time at Cal without the support of my community, and I hope to recreate the same environment as a study group leader, mentor, and friend!
What is your favorite class so far?
I am tied between SOCIOC115 and MCB50 because they both encompass my passions! Learning about infectious diseases and immunology in MCB 50 sparked my interested in medicine, while SOCIOC115 pushed me to think and discuss critically about topics like health care segregation and patient autonomy. I believe both classes introduce an intersectional perspective to be a compassionate human and healthcare provider.
