Why do you tutor for BSP?
Bio 1B was the first pre-med class I took during my initial semester at Cal. Navigating through numerous new challenges, I found it difficult to properly grasp the material. At the time, I doubted my ability to handle STEM courses more challenging than Bio 1B. However, BSP taught me that grades don't define passion and that we all start from different points in life. Thanks to the supportive community I found in BSP, I was given another chance to truly understand the material and make the concepts my own, which I believe is what truly matters. My goal is to continue fostering an environment where students in BSP feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because that's where real learning happens!
What is your favorite class so far?
One of my favorite classes so far has been Bio 1A. Before coming to Cal, I never thought I would want to major in biology. I always considered chemistry and organic chemistry to be my favorite subjects, but Bio 1A helped me realize how vast the field of molecular biology is. It sparked my interest in learning more about the immune system and human diseases, both on a cellular level and within the context of public health.
