Title:
Program Advisor & Study Groups Coordinator
Bio:

I hail from the prairies of rural Kansas, a setting that was foundational in shaping my love of natural history and life science. Navigating the sciences as a queer and first-generation student presented unique challenges; I owe it to a rich community of mentors, family, and friends that offered their guidance, and I know firsthand the importance of community in fostering growth and success in academia. My pursuits now often lie at the crossroads of science and social justice, and I am particularly interested in fighting educational inequity and co-creating safe spaces where students are free to explore and follow their highest passion.

I have an MS in Botany from the University of Kansas and a BS in Biology from Emporia State University. My love for plant science has taken me from the laboratory where I studied island plant evolution, to the US Botanic Garden in D.C., and finally to San Francisco where I taught botany in the high school setting. I am thrilled to belong to the BSP community and to learn and create alongside students, staff, and faculty. Please do not hesitate to reach out for any reason at all.
