I am a first-generation college student from Lake Arrowhead, a small town in Southern California. Moving away from home was a difficult transition, and while I had always thought of myself as independent, I struggled with imposter syndrome and moments of self-doubt when I first started at Berkeley. What helped me find my confidence were the mentors, advisors, and especially the BSP community, who reminded me that I belonged here and had the ability to reach my goals.

I am now a fourth year student double majoring in Integrative Biology and Public Health. Since joining BSP in my sophomore year, it has been one of the most integral parts of my journey and success at Berkeley. BSP has given me a community where I feel supported both academically and personally.

Looking ahead, I plan to become a Pathologists’ Assistant as a step toward eventually applying to medical school. I am so grateful for everything BSP has given me, and I look forward to giving back to this amazing community that has shaped so much of my time at Cal.
