Why do you tutor for BSP?
I tutor for BSP because having ADHD means I learn differently and have always needed extra help with homework or clarifying concepts and questions growing up, something I know many students can relate to. I want to provide a space for students with different learning styles and strengths to ask questions and help one another. I know it's easy to fall behind and be scared of asking questions so I want students to know that they aren't the only ones. Even if students aren't struggling with a material it might be nice to refresh on concepts and build community with their peers. BSP is here to give them the help they need no matter the circumstance.
What is your favorite class so far?
One of my favorite classes so far has been Public Health 150D which talks about public policy and compares the different systems in place around the U.S. and the world. It talks about history, medicine, economics, law, and all the other factors that impact important decisions being made in regards to healthcare and medicine. It takes a neutral stance and displays all sorts of views on healthcare outlining where the beliefs stem from and how they affect healthcare. It was a very eye opening class on the complexities of healthcare and medicine for me.
